What exactly is
a publishing Sherpa?

As a publishing sherpa, I work with authors who have what they consider a finished manuscript but aren’t entirely clear on what their next steps are. 

I start with a conversation and then read the manuscript. From there I help determine smart next steps by evaluating whether or not editing is necessary, and introduce the author to an appropriate editor – developmental, copy editor, etc. If no editorial intervention is needed, we move on to finding the right agent or publisher.

We also talk about self-publishing vs. traditional publishing vs. hybrid publishing. In this varying landscape of publishing there are many options and considerations. Our work together helps guide you to the best possible solutions based on your genre and experience.
